The Customs Area Controller of the Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, Deputy Comptroller N.I. Miko, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter,as the association ushered in a new leadership team.
Speaking during the COWA PTML Chapter Taking-Over Ceremony, Deputy Comptroller Miko described the event as more than a leadership transition, noting that it represents continuity, service, and the enduring contributions of Customs officers’ spouses to the Nigeria Customs Service family.
The Area Controller commended the immediate past Chairperson, Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, for her exemplary leadership and the successful execution of impactful projects during her tenure.
He noted that the achievements recorded under her administration had strengthened the association and positively impacted members and the wider Customs community.
Beyond infrastructural and welfare initiatives, Deputy Comptroller Miko highlighted COWA’s critical role in providing stability on the home front, enabling officers to effectively carry out their statutory responsibilities of revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
“While officers are engaged in the discharge of their official duties, COWA members ensure that our homes remain stable, peaceful, and productive.

A stable home is the foundation of effective service delivery, and for this invaluable contribution, we remain profoundly grateful,” he stated.
Congratulating the new Chairperson, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko, on her assumption of office, the Controller expressed confidence in her ability to build upon the achievements of her predecessor and lead the chapter to greater accomplishments.
On behalf of the officers and men of the PTML Command, he pledged continued support for the association, describing COWA as a strategic partner in promoting the welfare and wellbeing of Customs officers and their families.
The Controller assured the association of the Command’s readiness to provide necessary assistance within its capacity, including logistical, operational, and moral support, to facilitate the successful implementation of its programmes and initiatives.
He also expressed appreciation to the National President of COWA,Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, for her visionary leadership and dedication to strengthening the association across all chapters of the Service.
Deputy Comptroller Miko concluded by wishing the new leadership wisdom, unity, and success in the discharge of its responsibilities, expressing optimism that the chapter would continue to record remarkable achievements under its new administration.
The ceremony brought together officers, sectional heads, members of COWA, invited guests, and members of the media in celebration of the association’s continued commitment to family welfare, community development, and support for the Nigeria Customs Service.
