Chief Capt. Anthony Onoharigho, Ph.D., Life Patron of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide and Chief Executive Officer of Conarina Marine Global Services, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the unity, peace and sustainable development of the Urhobo nation following a courtesy visit by the leadership of the UPU Worldwide.
The delegation, led by the President-General of the UPU Worldwide, Olorogun Barr. Ese Gam Owe, visited Chief Onoharigho at his country home in Oria, Umiaghwa, Abraka Kingdom, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, where both parties held strategic discussions on advancing the interests of the Urhobo people.
The visit provided a platform for meaningful engagement on issues affecting the socio-economic growth, cultural preservation and collective progress of Urhobo land, with participants exploring practical ways to strengthen unity and foster sustainable development across the ethnic nationality.
Welcoming the delegation, Chief Onoharigho expressed profound appreciation to the President-General and members of the National Executive Council for the visit, describing his appointment as Life Patron of the UPU Worldwide as both a great honour and a call to greater service.
He pledged to continue supporting initiatives that promote peace, unity, cultural heritage and economic advancement, while assuring the union of his readiness to deploy his experience, resources and influence towards achieving its vision for the Urhobo nation.
“I remain committed to working with the leadership of the UPU to advance the collective interests of our people and contribute meaningfully to the development of Urhobo land,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, President-General Olorogun Barr. Ese Gam Owe commended Chief Onoharigho for his longstanding contributions to community development and his unwavering dedication to the progress of the Urhobo nation.
He described the maritime entrepreneur as a worthy ambassador of Urhobo whose selfless service and leadership continue to inspire confidence and development within the community.
