The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Dr. Akutah Pius, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement and Impact Award by the National Alumni Association of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
The award was presented in Abuja during the university’s 25th anniversary celebration, a landmark event that also paid tribute to its founder and first Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu.

Speaking as Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Akutah underscored the strategic location of Nasarawa State, noting that its proximity to neighbouring states and the Federal Capital Territory enhances access to NSUK and fosters diversity within the institution.
He stressed the importance of sustained investment in the university to strengthen its capacity as a centre of academic excellence. The NSC boss also highlighted the recent commissioning of the university’s Secretariat, describing it as a major milestone in its institutional growth.
Dr. Akutah further urged alumni to play a more active role in advancing the university’s development, particularly through support initiatives and strategic engagement.
He concluded by commending the Vice Chancellor, Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, alongside the university’s academic community, for their commitment to maintaining high standards and driving progress.
