GOVT PERFORMANCE REVIEW: CUSTOMS, NPA LEAD WITH BONUS

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and National Pension Commission (PENCOM) have emerged among the top-performing agencies in a performance review, recording 100 per cent implementation with an additional 20 per cent bonus.
According to the performance overview, the four agencies were classified under the Exceptional category, representing the highest rating displayed in the assessment, with a combined implementation score of 120 per cent, including the bonus.
The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) was listed under the Excellent category with 100 per cent implementation, becoming the first agency to attain full implementation under the programme. Other agencies in this category included the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Performance overview Analysis

Meanwhile, the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB), Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were among agencies rated Very Good, with implementation rates ranging from 80 to 99 per cent.
The assessment also listed the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML), Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in the Very Good category.
The performance review highlights varying levels of implementation across the assessed agencies, with the top-rated institutions recognised for achieving the programme’s stated targets.
