In a strategic move to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and promote institutional integrity, the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command, Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun, has intensified partnership efforts with key government agencies.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Acting CAC paid courtesy visits to the Lagos Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Zonal Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Zone A, Lagos. The visits formed part of his broader engagement drive aimed at enhancing efficiency, professionalism, and synergy between the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and its sister agencies.

At the ICPC office, Deputy Comptroller Adigun was received by the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Lagos, Mr. Chukwura Alexander, fsi, alongside other senior officials. He emphasized that strategic collaboration with the Commission is critical to strengthening internal controls, improving compliance, and sustaining public confidence in government institutions. According to him, effective partnerships are essential for entrenching transparency, accountability, and ethical standards across the public service.
In his response, Mr. Alexander described the visit as timely and impactful, commending the KLT Command for its proactive and forward-looking leadership. He noted that corruption often flourishes when institutions work in silos and praised the Acting CAC for fostering cooperation between key agencies. He assured that the ICPC would continue to work closely with the Nigeria Customs Service to deepen transparency, strengthen compliance, and advance integrity-based initiatives that enhance public trust.
Deputy Comptroller Adigun also visited the Zonal Headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A, where he was warmly received by the Assistant Controller-General, Mr. Jude Agboje, and other senior officers. During the engagement, he stressed the importance of sustained collaboration among security and law enforcement agencies, particularly in addressing emerging security and operational challenges through information sharing and coordinated action.
Mr. Agboje described the visit as highly significant, applauding the Acting CAC’s vision and commitment to inter-agency synergy. He noted that such partnerships enhance intelligence-led operations, strengthen law enforcement outcomes, and promote operational efficiency. He also commended the KLT Command for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative within the Correctional Service facility, describing the gesture as commendable and impactful.
He pledged continued collaboration between the two agencies, affirming their readiness to pursue joint initiatives, exchange expertise, and support shared strategic objectives.
