Acting CAC Moves to Reset Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Ops, Meets Terminal Operators

The newly appointed Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command, Deputy Comptroller B.L. Adigun, has commenced a stakeholder engagement drive with terminal operators as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen collaboration.
Deputy Comptroller Adigun held his first formal meeting with terminal operators on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, shortly after assuming office. The engagement underscored his commitment to open communication, transparency, and improved coordination between Customs and terminal stakeholders.

The meeting provided a platform for constructive dialogue on aligning operational expectations, ensuring strict compliance with customs regulations, and addressing challenges affecting terminal efficiency. Discussions also focused on practical measures to improve workflow and foster a more seamless operational environment.
In his remarks, the Acting CAC reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on sharp practices, emphasizing integrity, accountability, and adherence to due process. He stressed that accurate documentation, compliance with procedures, and transparency are critical to revenue protection, trust-building, and sustaining a business-friendly port environment.


Terminal operators welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. They commended the Acting CAC for his inclusive leadership style and used the opportunity to share insights and suggestions aimed at improving terminal operations. The operators also expressed confidence in his leadership and offered prayers for a successful tenure.
Responding, Deputy Comptroller Adigun assured stakeholders of his readiness to work collaboratively, address operational concerns pragmatically, and sustain regular engagement to ensure smooth operations and effective partnerships.
