Dele Momodu Warns Adeleke Ahead of Osun Governorship Election, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plot to “Grab Osun”

Veteran journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, has urged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to remain steadfast and vigilant ahead of the state’s governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
In a strongly worded message addressed to Adeleke, Momodu described the governor as his “twin brother” and said he was compelled to issue the warning “for posterity sake.”
Momodu alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which he claimed was under the influence of the Federal Government, could not be relied upon to conduct a free, fair and credible election in Osun State.
He further alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was determined to use the Osun election as a “dress rehearsal” for the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, information from his contacts within the APC suggested that the party’s supporters had been instructed to secure victory in Osun State “by any means necessary,” regardless of the consequences.
“We have a lot of friends in APC and we’ve been warned to expect ANY eventuality,” Momodu stated, alleging that the instruction to the party’s “foot-soldiers” was to “GRAB OSUN by any means NECESSARY.”
Momodu, however, encouraged Adeleke not to be distracted by the political developments surrounding the election, urging him to remain committed to God and confident in his achievements as governor.
He praised Adeleke for what he described as his “uncommon work” in Osun State, while challenging his political opponents to campaign on their past records.
“Please, hold on tightly to GOD as you’ve always been. We are proud of the uncommon work you’ve done, and doing,” he said.
Momodu concluded the message with a show of support for the governor, declaring: “YOU ARE LOVED.”
