President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 elections, with former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, appointed Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, named Secretary.
Under the structure released on Saturday, President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen.
APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were appointed Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
The campaign council will be supported by a high-level advisory body comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
Akpabio, Abbas, Buni Get Key Roles
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the campaign’s southern and northern operations.
They will work alongside Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Senator Jibril Barau in coordinating activities across the two broad regions.
Former APC National Chairman, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, will serve as Deputy Director-General in charge of Mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will oversee Administration as Deputy Director-General.
James Abiodun Faleke, who played a prominent role in the APC’s 2022/2023 campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
Faleke will coordinate zonal directors comprising Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.
Alake, Onanuga Lead Media Strategy
The campaign’s media and strategic communication directorate will be coordinated by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, working with Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Other coordinating deputy directors include Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka.
Abdulaziz AbdulAziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor will serve as coordinating secretaries of the media directorate.
Segun Dada returns as Director of New Media, the position he held during the 2022 campaign, while Solomon Arowolo will serve as Secretary of New Media.
The council also named five spokespersons led by Dele Alake, with Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda as members of the spokespersons’ team.
Tinubu: Take Our Message to Nigerians
President Tinubu charged members of the council to work diligently towards securing victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections.
He also directed leaders of the various directorates to engage other party members who may not have been formally listed, urging them to contribute to the campaign effort.
The President said the administration had delivered on its campaign promises and placed Nigeria on a path of economic progress, urging the campaign team to communicate the government’s achievements effectively to Nigerians.
He called on members of the council to present the administration’s record with confidence and inspire hope across the country, while mobilising voters to support the APC in the forthcoming elections.
