Nigeria Customs Port Harcourt II Command Surpasses 2025 Revenue Target, Records N731.2bn Collection

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port Harcourt II Command, has exceeded its 2025 revenue target, recording a total collection of ₦731.2 billion and outperforming its benchmark by 4.46 per cent.
The Command had been assigned a revenue target of ₦700.01 billion for 2025, following its strong performance in the previous year. The latest figures underscore a sustained improvement in revenue generation and enforcement activities at the Command.
The achievement has been largely attributed to the leadership of the Area Controller, Comptroller Aliyu Mohammed Alkali, whose effective implementation of the Comptroller-General of Customs’ policy thrust and deployment of the indigenous Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), known as B’ODOGWU, enhanced operational efficiency and cargo clearance processes.

Comptroller Alkali also ensured strict compliance with standard operating procedures, promoted discipline among officers, and maintained consistent engagement with stakeholders, factors that collectively contributed to the Command’s performance.
While acknowledging the role of quality leadership, the Area Controller expressed appreciation to the management of the Nigeria Customs Service, led by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for creating an enabling environment that supported the Command’s success. He further commended the cooperation and synergy from critical stakeholders within the port community.

In addition to revenue collection, the Command recorded significant enforcement milestones. Comptroller Alkali disclosed that officers intercepted 75 containers with a cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦47.6 billion, reflecting what he described as the officers’ dedication, professionalism, and patriotism.
According to him, 30 of the intercepted containers were found to contain expired, illicit, and unregistered pharmaceutical products, while other consignments were seized for various infractions of the Customs and Excise laws. He noted that the seizures were intended to serve as a strong deterrent to would-be violators.

The Area Controller urged importers and licensed customs agents to make honest declarations, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while enforcing customs regulations in line with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
