A drama played out in an Abuja-bound aircraft after a suspected thief was caught allegedly stealing ₦290,000 from the luggage of a white passenger.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect reportedly opened an overhead compartment belonging to another passenger and removed some cash before returning to his seat as if nothing happened.
However, his actions didn’t go unnoticed. The drama started when the white man, upon checking the overhead bin above his seat, realized that his luggage was missing. He raised his voice and alerted both fellow passengers and flight attendants.
A female passenger who claimed to have seen the suspect earlier tampering with the luggage immediately pointed at him.
Security personnel quickly intervened, and the man was searched on the spot. To the shock of everyone, the missing cash was allegedly found with him.
The suspected thief, a mature man, was later led off the aircraft by airport security officials amid murmurs from other passengers.
In the video circulating online, the man could be seen being escorted out of the plane as angry passengers filmed the scene and expressed disbelief at his actions.
