The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria, Comrade Bunu, has extended warm greetings to women across the world in celebration of the International Women’s Day, commending their resilience, strength, and invaluable contributions to society.
In a goodwill message to mark the occasion, the maritime labour leader described women as one of the greatest gifts bestowed upon humanity, noting that their presence brings balance, purpose, and beauty to the world.
According to him, women play an indispensable role in shaping families, communities, and institutions, emphasizing that life would be incomplete without their nurturing influence and enduring strength.
Comrade Bunu further highlighted the significant role women play in human development and societal progress, stating that their contributions remain fundamental to the growth and continuity of mankind.
The MWUN President-General also paid special tribute to female members of the union, praising their dedication and commitment within the maritime labour community.
He urged them to remain resilient and continue to uphold the values of strength, unity, and professionalism, assuring them of his pride in their contributions to the union and the maritime sector.
