The (NCS) on Friday, 12 December 2025, graduated 100 officers of Senior Course 13 and Junior Course 23 at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, in a strategic push to deepen leadership capacity, operational efficiency and strategic management across the Service.
The ceremony, attended by senior officers, instructors and invited guests, underscored the NCS’s commitment to continuous professional development and institutional excellence.
Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs, , the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Services, Kikelomo Adeola, congratulated the graduates and urged them to deploy the skills and values acquired during the programme to improve service delivery in their respective commands and units.
She emphasised that capacity building remains central to the Service’s modernisation agenda, adding that officers trained at the College are expected to translate learning into measurable performance gains. Adeola also charged the graduates to uphold professionalism, discipline and integrity, noting their role as mentors and role models to younger officers.
Earlier, the Commandant of the College, Assistant Comptroller-General Dow Gaura, described the successful completion of the courses as evidence of the discipline, resilience and intellectual rigour demonstrated by participants throughout the intensive training period. He noted that the College plays a critical role in professionalising the NCS workforce through a structured curriculum aligned with international best practices, integrating customs law, leadership, operations management and strategic studies.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Course Senior for Senior Course 13, Assistant Comptroller of Customs Umar Garba, described the programme as transformative, citing enhanced leadership skills, deeper understanding of customs procedures, and broader perspectives on inter-agency collaboration and national security.
Highlights of the event included a guard of honour for the Special Guest of Honour, presentation of certificates and awards to outstanding officers. A Regimental Dinner Night was also held on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at the College premises to mark the completion of rigorous three- and six-month training programmes for the Junior and Senior Courses respectively, in keeping with long-standing Service tradition
