NNPP: We Never Praised Kwankwaso Galadima, Others Still Expelled

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has denied issuing any official statement congratulating its former presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on his birthday, insisting that reports attributing such a message to the party are false and misleading.
In a statement released by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the NNPP, the party clarified that only its founder and Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, personally extended birthday wishes to Kwankwaso a gesture made solely on the basis of their long-standing personal relationship.

The party further disowned a statement purportedly signed by one Ladipo Johnson, stressing that he is neither a member nor a spokesperson of the NNPP.
“The statement credited to Ladipo Johnson did not emanate from the party headquarters. Mr. Johnson ceased to be a member of the NNPP following his expulsion on August 28, 2023, for gross anti-party activities and, therefore, cannot speak for our party,” the NWC stated.

The NNPP also reaffirmed that Senator Kwankwaso, alongside Buba Galadima, Dr. Ahmed Ajuji, and Barrister Ladipo Johnson, had long been expelled from the party through internal democratic procedures  a decision upheld by both the Abia State High Court and the FCT High Court.
“Our party could not identify any verifiable leadership qualities worthy of commendation during Kwankwaso’s brief association with the NNPP and, as such, would not have issued any statement celebrating such attributes,” the NWC added.
The party urged the media to verify information from official NNPP sources before publication, emphasizing the need for accuracy and professionalism in political reporting.
