The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has inspected the Customs Training College, Goron Dutse, Kano, as part of preparations for the commencement of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) 2025/2026 Recruitment Training Programme.
Adeniyi conducted the inspection on Saturday, August 29, 2026, to assess the readiness of the training institution, including its facilities, ongoing projects, logistics and general capacity to accommodate and train the incoming recruits.
The visit underscores the Service’s focus on ensuring that newly recruited personnel receive effective basic training and are adequately equipped for their responsibilities within the NCS.

The CGC was received by the Zonal Coordinator, Zone B, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Nsikan Umoh; Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit Zone B, Aminu Sule; Commandant of the Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Umar Atiku; alongside other principal officers and heads of units.
Speaking during the inspection, Adeniyi reaffirmed the NCS management’s commitment to providing the facilities, logistics and conducive learning environment required for effective training and professional capacity development.
He stressed that the College must be adequately prepared to deliver quality basic training capable of instilling discipline, competence and professionalism in the new recruits as they begin their careers in the Service.

The Commandant, in a briefing to the CGC, outlined the College’s activities, ongoing projects and measures being implemented ahead of the recruits’ arrival.
Adeniyi subsequently toured key facilities across the institution to personally assess their condition and determine areas requiring attention before the commencement of the training programme.
The inspection forms part of broader efforts by the NCS management to strengthen its human-resource development framework and ensure that the next generation of Customs officers begins service with the requisite skills, knowledge and professional orientation.
