From TVC to DG: Tinubu Names Awakan, Others to Key Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the appointment of three new heads of federal agencies, signaling his administration’s drive to strengthen key national institutions.
Mr. Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan, a journalist formerly with TVC, has been named Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) for an initial four-year term, effective September 2, 2025.

In a similar move, Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State has been appointed Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA) for four years, starting September 18, 2025, in line with Section 5 of the NBMA Act, 2015.
Also, Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu of Zamfara State will serve as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal for a five-year tenure, effective September 18, 2025.
The President charged the new appointees to bring their expertise and leadership to bear in advancing the mandates of their respective agencies for national growth and development.
