“FOU Zone A Promotes 186 Officers, Shuaibu Urges Integrity”

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu, on Wednesday decorated 186 newly promoted officers of the unit, urging them to embrace integrity, humility, and greater commitment to service.

Speaking at the ceremony held in Ikeja, Lagos, Comptroller Shuaibu described the event as a milestone in the unit’s history, stressing that the promotions reflected the officers’ dedication and loyalty to the Service rather than mere elevation in rank.
According to him, “promotion is not the end of the road; it is a checkpoint on the long path of service. There are greater heights to attain, new challenges to confront, and more contributions to be made toward the development of our Service and the progress of our country.”

A total of 186 officers benefitted from the exercise, with the breakdown as follows:
• Assistant Comptroller of Customs to Deputy Comptroller of Customs – 7 officers

• Superintendent of Customs to Chief Superintendent of Customs – 22 officers
• Deputy Superintendent of Customs to Superintendent of Customs – 27 officers
• Assistant Superintendent of Customs I to Deputy Superintendent of Customs – 23 officers
• Assistant Superintendent of Customs II to Assistant Superintendent of Customs I – 42 officers

While congratulating the officers, the CAC reminded them that their new responsibilities required renewed discipline and service excellence. He further prayed for their continued success, urging them to bring honour to themselves, the unit, and the Nigeria Customs Service at large.
The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude to stakeholders, guests, and officers who graced the occasion.
