Coastal Highway: Section Two Records 12km Progress

The Federal Government has announced that 12 kilometers of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway have been completed in Section Two, as construction work accelerates to meet delivery timelines.

Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, disclosed this on Thursday during an inspection tour of the project in Lagos.
“On Section Two, over 10 kilometers of concrete pavement have already been done. In the next seven days, concreting will resume, and you can see the massive filling works ongoing,” Umahi said.

The minister commended the contractor, Hightech Construction Company Ltd., noting that the firm had deployed about 30 dredgers for sand filling to fast-track progress.
“If you don’t have these dredgers, which you are seeing here, you cannot do this work. I want to commend Hightech very highly. This is an example of partnership in the development of this country,” he added.

Umahi also lauded President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to the project, describing him as a leader on “a divine mission” to drive national development.
“This highway will bring immense socio-economic benefits, not just to Lagos State but across the entire corridor,” the minister said.
