B’Odogwu: Apapa Customs Generates ₦215bn in August

Comptroller Olomu Reassures Stakeholders on System Efficiency

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it generated ₦215 billion in revenue in August 2025, despite reported network challenges associated with its newly introduced Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu.

Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, described the milestone as a clear demonstration of growing confidence in the platform, which was designed to streamline customs processes and boost efficiency.

He commended both officers and stakeholders for their commitment to ensuring the success of the homegrown ICT system.
“This achievement reflects the resilience and patriotism of our officers, as well as the trust and support of stakeholders who continue to do business through Apapa Port,” Olomu said in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs JT Ayagbalo.

He noted that the revenue feat aligns with the vision of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, who has personally engaged stakeholders to build confidence in the platform.

According to Olomu, the Comptroller-General has directed the ICT/Modernisation Department at Customs headquarters to intensify support for the system, promptly address technical hitches, and respond effectively to user concerns to ensure seamless operations.

The CAC assured importers, exporters, licensed agents, and freight forwarders that B’Odogwu is on the path to greater success, describing their patience and cooperation as vital contributions to Nigeria’s trade ecosystem.

“Our collection of ₦215 billion through B’Odogwu is a testament to progress in our journey towards building a dependable trade platform,” he said. “It is a collective victory, and together we will continue to push for even greater achievements. The sky is our limit.”
