The Association of West African Exporters and Maritime Professionals (Awaemap) has lauded the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) for appointing a seasoned Comptroller to head Nigeria’s export command.
In a courtesy visit to the new Comptroller, Awaemap executives described their engagement as productive and encouraging, noting that the new helmsman demonstrated readiness and commitment to advancing the nation’s export sector.

The Comptroller, who acknowledged the strides made by his predecessor, pledged to consolidate on past achievements while pursuing deeper reforms to enhance trade facilitation and drive competitiveness.
Exporters expressed optimism that his leadership will foster a more enabling environment for business, energize stakeholders, and deliver tangible progress for the industry.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Awaemap President, Hon. Olubunmi Olumekun, said “We are encouraged by the vision and commitment of the new Comptroller. His professionalism, experience, and passion for export development assure us that this era will bring renewed progress. Awaemap pledges its full cooperation and support in ensuring that Nigeria’s export industry thrives under his leadership.”
The association reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate closely with the Nigeria Customs Service in achieving shared goals and unlocking the full potential of the export sector for national prosperity.
