Shippers’ Council Trains Staff on ECMS for Improved Service Delivery

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has commenced a comprehensive capacity-building programme for its workforce on the adoption and implementation of the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS).

The training is designed to equip staff with the technical expertise required to operate the system, streamline document management, and improve workflow efficiency. According to the Council, the initiative is expected to reduce administrative bottlenecks, boost productivity, and enhance timely access to information for stakeholders.

Speaking at the opening session, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NSC, Dr. Akutah Pius, MON, urged staff to embrace the Council’s digitisation agenda, stressing that the success of ECMS hinges on how quickly it is integrated into daily operations.

He noted that adaptability remains key to the Council’s drive for efficiency, transparency, and innovation in service delivery.
“With this investment in capacity building, the Council is strategically positioning itself to deliver better services, improve stakeholder engagement, and advance its long-term vision for institutional growth,” Dr. Pius stated.
The training underscores the Council’s commitment to modernising its operations in line with global best practices.
