Russian fire kills at least two in Ukraine’s Kherson region

At least two people were killed and six others injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine’s southern Kherson region, police said on Thursday.

The villages of Chornobaivka, Stepanivka and Komyshany were hit by multiple rocket launchers, damaging more than 70 residential homes as well as agricultural buildings, according to the police statement.

The settlements are located on the outskirts of the regional capital, Kherson, on the northern bank of the Dnipro River.
The river serves as the front line between Russian and Ukrainian forces in the area, with frequent artillery exchanges across it.
Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia’s invasion for more than three years.
