Anambra Police Nab Suspected IPOB Member, Recover Stolen Vehicle from Imo

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old suspected armed robber alleged to be a member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement on Sunday that the suspect, identified as Charles Chinonso, was apprehended in the early hours of August 10 by operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugwu-Ukwu.
According to Ikenga, the arrest took place at Umuazu village, Nise, in Awka South Local Government Area, where a vehicle earlier reported stolen in Imo State was also recovered.

The police action followed a complaint from a victim who reported that his vehicle was snatched at the World Bank Housing Area, Owerri West LGA, Imo State. Acting on credible technological intelligence, operatives traced the vehicle’s location and moved in to arrest the suspect.

Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, assured that the Anambra Command would work closely with the Imo State Police Command to ensure the suspect and the recovered vehicle are processed in line with the law.
